LITTLE HARRY POTTER

This pattern continues a series of little dolls inspired by Harry Potter characters from the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling.  A co-worker of mine saw a set of dolls of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.  She asked if I could make ones similar.  This is the pattern for a little doll that looks like Harry Potter.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  White, black, and buff
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
Glue
Craft felt:  black and white
Red embroidery floss
Black covered wire or doll glasses

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With buff, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around.  (10)  Change to white
Rds 4-10: sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off.  Stuff ARMS firmly.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rds 3-10: sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off on first leg.  DO NOT FINISH OFF ON SECOND LEG.  Stuff LEGS firmly.

BODY:
CONITNUE ON SECOND LEG.
Rd 1: sc in each sc around second leg made, sc in each sc on first leg made.  (20)
Rds 2-5: sc in each sc around.  (20)  Change to white.
Rds 6-9: sc in each sc around.  (20)
Rd 10: sc in next 5 sc, holding ARM and BODY together with right sides touching and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 5 sc, sc in next 5 sc on BODY, holding ARM and BODY together with right sides touching and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 5 sc.  (20)
Rd 11: sc in next 2 sc on BODY, sc2tog, sc in next sc, sc in next sc on ARM, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog on BODY, sc in next 2 sc, sc next sc on BODY and next sc on ARM together, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog.  (15)
Rd 12: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (10)
Finish off.  Stuff BODY firmly.

COLLAR:
Rd 1: Skip next 7 sc, working in front loops only of Rd 12 of BODY, attach white, ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

HEAD:
Rd 1: Working in back loops only on Rd 12 of BODY, attach buff, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (30)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (40)
Rds 4-10: sc in each sc around.  (40)
Rd 11: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around.  (32)
Rd 12: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (24)
Rd 13: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (16)
STUFF HEAD FIRMLY.
Rd 14: sc2tog around.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Add more stuffing to get desired shape.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 14, pull tightly, and secure.  Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With buff, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to HEAD.

RIOBE:
Rw 1: With black, ch 25, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (24)
Rws 2-16: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (24)
Rw 17: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, dc in next sc, ch 5, skip next 5 sc, dc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc, dc in next sc, ch 5, skip next 5 sc, dc in next sc, sc in next sc.
Rw 18: Ch 1, turn; sc in each st and ch across.  (24)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

SLEEVES:
Rd 1: Working in center sc of 5 skipped sc, attach black, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in side of Rw 17, sc in free loops of ch-5, 2 sc in side of Row 17, sc in next 2 skipped sc.  (14)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc.  (15)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around.  (15)
Rd 4: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc.  (16)
Rd 5: sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 6: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc.  (17)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Repeat in second armhole.

HOOD:
Rw 1: With black, ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (6)
Rws 2-6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Fold HOOD in half.  Sew sides together.  Sew HOOD  to ROBE.

EYES:
Use black and white craft felt to make EYES.  Use picture as reference for gluing EYES on HEAD of doll.

EYEBROWS AND MOUTH:
Use black yarn to embroider the EYEBROWS and MOUTH on HEAD of doll.

SCAR:
Use red embroidery floss to embroider scar on forehead of doll.

HAIR:
Using black yarn, fringe pieces on HEAD.  Use comb to create desired hairstyle.  Optional:  Can use hairspray if needed to create desired hairstyle.

GLASSES:
If you are not able to find a pair of doll glasses that look like Harry’s, like I didn’t, use black covered wire to create your own pair of glasses.
