WAR MACHINE

I sent a picture of Iron Man to my Etsy customer.  He asked if I could make War Machine as a companion doll to go with Iron Man.  I would have to completely agree with his statement.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Gray, white, and black.
E Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gray, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (8)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 5: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc in next 8 sc.  (10)
Rd 6: Working in free loops of ch-3, sc in next 2 ch, working in sc of Rd 5, sc in next 10 sc.  (12)
Rd 7: skip next 4 sc, sc in next 8 sc.  (8)
Rd 8: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Rd 9: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (8)
Rds 10-12: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to black after Rd 12.
Rds 13-15: sc in each sc around.  (8)

BEGIN STUFFING THE ARMS FIRMLY.  CONTINUE STUFFING AS YOU GO.

FOREARM GUARDS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With gray, ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (6)
Rws 2-13: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Wrap around ARMS and sew Rw 1 and Rw 13 together.  Weave in ends.

LEGS (MAKE 2):

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew POWER CORE to BREASTPLATE.
Place BREASTPLATE on IRON MAN and sew in place.

THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO PLACE THE BREASTPLATE ON WAR MACHINE.  IT WILL VERY DIFFICULT TO SLIP THE HEAD THROUGH THE NECK OPENING ON THE BREASTPLATE ONCE THE HEAD IS STUFFED AND CLOSED.
Rds 34-41:       sc in each sc around.  (20)
Rd 42: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (15)
Rd 43: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (10)
Rd 44: sc2tog around.  (5)
Finish off with a long tail.  Add more stuffing to firmly achieve desired shape.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 44, pull tightly, and secure.  Weave in ends

SHOULDER GUARDS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gray, 12 sc in magic ring.  (12)
Rds 2-6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew SHOULDER GUARDS to IRON MAN.
