PAW PATROL RUBBLE

This is the next in a series of the original Paw Patrol dogs.  This is Rubble.  He is the designed to portray a construction worker.  He, along with the other 5 Paw Patrol dogs, are a request from a co-worker.  The others will be coming soon.  Rubble was the hardest of all the Paw Patrol because his body structure is different than the others.  Rubble is an English bulldog.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Burnt pumpkin, yellow, gray, white, café latte, black, perfect pink, and carrot.
D and Size 6 crochet hook
White crochet cotton
DMC floss: Yellow (444), white, gray (415), and pewter (414)
Embroidery needle
Size 18 Aida cloth
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With burnt pumpkin, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (27)

MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With grey heather, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew to BODY adding stuffing in MUZZLE before closing.

NOSE:
Rw 1: With black, ch 2, 3sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew to MUZZLE.

EYES, MOUTH AND EYEBROWS:
Embroider EYES, MOUTH and EYEBROWS on PAW PATROL RUBBLE.

FRONT LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, 7 sc in magic ring.  (7)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (14)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (21)

HIND LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 10 ch, 3 sc in last ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 10 ch, 2 sc in next ch.  (26)
Rd 2: (sc in next 12 sc, 3 sc in next sc) twice.  (30)
Rd 3: sc in next 13 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 14 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  (34)
Rds 4-6: sc in each sc around.  (34)

Rd 8: Holding right side together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 8 sc, turn LEG inside out, 2 sc in each remaining sc of Rd 7, slip st in first sc after turning inside out, slip st in first sc changing to burnt pumpkin.  (16)

BEGIN STUFFING HIND LEGS AT THIS POINT.  STUFF LOWER PART OF LEG FIRMLY AND UPPER PART LIGHTLY SO THAT IT CAN BE FLATTENED.

MEDALLION:
Using graph above, floss, and Aida cloth to cross stitch MEDALLION.
EDGING:
Rd 1: Attach gray floss and using Size 6 crochet hook in center of top of MEDALLION, sc in evenly around outside edge with 2 sc in each of Rws 16 and 14 and 2 sc in center of foundation ch, slip st in first sc, ch 10, wrap around COLLAR, slip st in first sc of EDGING.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Wrap COLLAR around neck of BODY and sew together.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With burnt pumpkin, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rds 3-7: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Stuff TAIL firmly.  Sew TAIL to BODY.

PUP PACK:
PUP PACK SIDES (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With yellow, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Rws 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

PUP PACK BODY:
Rw 1: With yellow, ch 11, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (10)
Rws 2-32: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew Rw 1 and Rw 32 together.  Sew SIDES to BODY stuffing before closing second SIDE.  Weave in ends.

PUP PACK TOOL BOXES BODY (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With café latte, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (3)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Rd 9: Ch 1, working in side of Rws, sc in next 8 Rws, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch, sc in next 8 Rws, sc in next 3 sc of Rw 8, slip st in first sc.  (22)
Rd 10: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (22)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

PUP PACK TOOL BOXES TOP (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With café latte ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (3)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Using gray, embroider a hammer on one PUP PACK TOOL BOX TOP and a wrench on the other PUP PACK TOOL BOX TOP.  Sew PUP PACK TOOL BOXES together stuffing before closing.  Sew PUP PACK TOOL BOXES to PUP PACK.  Sew PUP PACK to RUBBLE.

HAT:
HAT SIDES (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With yellow, ch 11, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (10)
Rws 2-5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (10)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog.  (8)

HAT TOP:
Rw 1: With yellow, ch 11, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (10)
Rws 2-21: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew HAT SIDES to HAT TOP.  Weave in ends.

HAT BILL:
Rw 1: Working in front loop only, attach yellow in first sc of Rw 21 of HAT TOP, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 9 sc.  (10)
Rws 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (10)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog.  (8)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Sew HAT to PAW PATROL RUBBLE stuffing before closing.  Weave in ends.

PAW PATROL LOGO:
Using graph above, floss, and Aida cloth to make PAW PATROL LOGO.
EDGING:
Rd 1: Attach white crochet cotton and using Size 6 crochet hook in top of PAW PATROL LOGO, sc in evenly around outside edge with 2 sc in each of Rws 16 and 14 and 2 sc in center of foundation ch, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew PAW PATROL LOGO to HAT.

EARS (MAKE 2):
INNER EARS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With perfect pink, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)
Rws 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (2)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
OUTER EARS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With burnt pumpkin, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch.  (2)
Rws 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (2)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; holding next sc on OUTER EARS and first sc on INNER EARS together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 2 sc.  (2)
